If you have no idea what #ProjectLadiesWhoBrunch was all about....well, it's about time you clued yourself into my latest venture sponsored by discounted home goods trove, Tuesday Morning.
#ProjectLadiesWhoBrunch was more photo shoot than it was brunch. So, naturally I took the opportunity to bring together friends, local vendors and fun sponsors. The creativity and magic ensued...the whole day ended up being so much more than I had envisioned. And it was all thanks to everyone involved. Especially my dear friends who had to stare at the food and look amused while the camera was going off! Don't worry. We all ate after we got the shots we needed...work before play people.
Basically, I was contracted by TM to style a lovely outdoor brunch; the idea being that the majority of the styling include TM finds. No problem there! TM sent me on a shopping spree to prep for my brunch...and that was just the easy part, the fun part.
Lot's of work went into planning where to host this brunch. The objective for TM was to use the shots for editorial purposes on their website and social media. Outdoor photo shoots are always interesting, especially when they involve coordinating multiple people, lighting, mother nature!
So glad it was a warm, beautiful (slightly breezy) afternoon because I held the brunch in my spacious back yard, beneath our avacado trees. The idea had come to me like most ideas for shoots. All of a sudden I just see the whole thing in my mind, like a picture. A very detailed picture. And then it's just a matter of recreating the picture.
I made simple invites using Shutterfly.com and mailed them to all involved in #ProjectLadiesWhoBrunch. I had also emailed everyone ahead of the invites to let them in on the project I was contracted out to do. I let them know how I wanted them involved and most importantly, if they didn't want their picture taken this was probably not going to be the brunch to attend! It was crucial to let people know the main objective of the day, besides stuffing themselves with fluffy Hobee's blueberry coffee cake. I wanted my guests to have fun, be themselves and know their pics were going to end up somewhere other than just my blog.
So, what's a partaaaay without any swag? Major thanks to my fabulous swag bag sponsors. They sent my brunch crew home with fun stuff AND guess what? There's a swag bag waiting for one lucky reader. One reader will get a couple new Floss Gloss polishes from their latest s/s14 collection, a 3-pack of my beloved Eyes gel pads by ToGoSpa and beauty paraphernalia from Peninsula Beauty.
